Orcas Island

Laura brings enthusiasm and love for the islands to her work with
Windermere - and local knowledge since she has lived full-time on Orcas
Island since 1976.

Born in Seattle, she spent summers cruising in the islands as a child.
After obtaining her Bachelors in Botany from the UW she was given a
choice, a jobwith a landscaper on Orcas or working with the Department of
Agriculturein downtown Seattle.  She chose to stay on Orcas and never
returned to the mainland.

From 1982 to 1999, Laura worked with her husband, a contractor, building
and remodeling homes, mostly on Orcas, and for many years was employed by
The Islands' Sounder, the Orcas Island local newspaper.
Laura is excited to have the opportunity to welcome you to the islands.

Carol Gorton - Assistant Vacation Rental Manager

Lopez Island

Carol grew up in the San Fernando Valley, in California, attended Van Nuys High & San Fernando Valley State College. She married Jim & moved to Pullman, Washington in 1967 when they first visited the San Juan Islands. Since then Carol and Jim have enjoyed living in many beautiful areas including Lake Tahoe, Gardnerville, Nevada & now on beautiful Lopez Island.

Carol has experienced different jobs—all interesting including waitress, vacation rentals at Lake Tahoe,  secretary at Windermere, Lopez Island for 10 years, and the best & most challenging-raising four daughters.

Carol is looking forward to the new challenge of finding the right home for visitors to Lopez as well as helping homeowners on Lopez.

Carol loves Lopez Island because it is the ‘Friendly Island” & has much to offer with its beautiful scenery, ’The Village’ & many accessible beaches.  Come visit with us!
